BFA in Studio Art
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree is a program designed for students planning to pursue a graduate degree in studio art, or for those students seeking a professional career in studio arts or graphic design.
Concentrations offered in the BFA program include painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography and graphic design. Visit the majors link above to learn more about each specific concentration, courses offered and to view student work.
By actively creating and studying works of art in and out of class, students develop visual, creative and analytical skills. Class trips to regional art museums are a regular part of the curriculum.
Professional Portfolio Review
Upon completion of the art foundations sequence, majors seeking admission to the B.F.A. degree program must submit a portfolio for review by the art faculty. Portfolio reviews are conducted at the end of the fall and spring semester. Deadline dates are posted in the department by midterm. Contact the chair of the art department for specific requirements.
