Piedmont Questions

How many students are enrolled?

During the 2010-2011 academic year, there are approximately 2800 total students enrolled, including 1038 undergraduates at our Demorest campus and 790 undergraduates at our Athens Campus.

 

Is Piedmont accredited?

Yes, Piedmont College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award associate, baccalaureate and master's degree programs.  For accreditation information, please contact SACS at 404-679-4500 or 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA, 30033. The Walker School of Business received national accreditation in November 2007 from the Association of Collegiate Business Schools (ACBSP) for the undergraduate and graduate business programs at both Piedmont’s Demorest and Athens Campuses. What are the application deadlines?

The application deadline varies depending on the semester for which you are interested in attending. Fall Semester- July 1st Spring Semester- December 15th Summer Semester- May 1st

 

What is the average class size?

Answer

The student to teacher ratio is about 14 students per professor. The average class size is about 18 students and the cap is 25 students in a class. Our class sizes are small so students are able to receive one-on-one attention from their professors.

Athens Questions

Are there scholarships available?

Our tuition is offered at a lower rate on our Athens campus, so we do not offer institutional scholarships at this time.

 

How much are tuition and fees?

Answer

Tuition on the Athens Campus for 2011-12 is $11,500 for a student enrolled in 12-17 hours.  Students enrolled in less than 12 hours are charged a per hour rate of $479. Piedmont College does not charge many fees. Click here for a list of fees you might have to pay attending Piedmont.

 

What housing options are available?

There is no on campus housing at our Athens Campus. We will be glad to speak with you about housing options in the area.

 

Where is the campus located?

Answer

Our Athens Campus is located at 595 Prince Avenue in the Cobbham historic district of Athens.

 

Demorest Questions

Are there scholarships available?

Answer

Piedmont College offers over 6.2 million dollars in scholarships and financial aid each year. Please contact our Financial Aid or Admissions Offices with questions regarding what might be available to you.

 

How much are tuition and fees?

Answer

Tuition for 2011-12 is $19,000 per year. Room and board is $7,500 per year. Piedmont College does not charge many fees. Click here for a list of fees you might have to pay attending Piedmont.

 

What athletic teams are available?

Piedmont College has NCAA Division III athletics. Our intercollegiate sports include: Men’s Baseball, Women’s Softball,  Men’s and Women’s Basketball,  Men’s and Women’s Soccer,  Men’s and Women’s Cross Country,  Women’s Volleyball,  Men’s and Women’s Tennis,  Men’s and Women’s Golf,  Men’s and Women's Lacrosse (beginning 2012-2013 school year).

 

What housing options are available?

Our Demorest campus offers a variety of housing options for incoming students. This includes suite style, apartment style, and communal style dorm options. There are 11 dorms on campus, two of which are freshmen dorms. Click here to check out housing options.

 

Where is the campus located?

Our campus is located at 165 Central Avenue Demorest, Georgia. Demorest is located about 80 miles northeast of Atlanta.
