Our
Mission
Piedmont College
educates students to become successful and responsible citizens
through rigorous academic instruction in the liberal arts and
professional disciplines. Learning opportunities are provided
through undergraduate and graduate programs offered at various
locations. The institution emphasizes high ethical standards
and respect for diversity.
Goals
The primary
goal of Piedmont College is to be one of the best small liberal
arts colleges in the Southeast. Piedmont pursues that goal by
adding extra value to the basic college experience. For those
students who are academically talented, Piedmont provides enrichment
and challenge beyond the classroom. For those who are not as
well prepared academically, the College provides extra academic
assistance and encouragement designed to turn their potential into
achievement.
Although the
rules of guardianship have changed, and young people today demand
more independence on the American college campus, Piedmont still
feels strongly about instilling a sense of moral responsibility
in its students. The ethical and spiritual values of the Christian
tradition are not merely cherished and preserved, they are actively
examined. The Piedmont community is committed to the compatibility
of these values with a diverse and inclusive community that
cherishes academic freedom.
