The 50-voice Piedmont College Singers will perform their Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m., March 18, in the Chapel at the college in Demorest. Admission is free. Directed by Dr.Wallace Hinson and accompanied by Louise Bass on the Sewell Organ and piano, the concert will include nine works from the 16th to the 20th century, including songs by Marek Jasinski, Palestrina, Johann Nepomuk David, Edgar Bainton, Gerald Finzi, and Benjamin Britten. The Piedmont Singers is a select group of Piedmont College students and performs a wide variety of literature from Renaissance to 21st century pieces, including ethnic and contemporary choral music, folksongs, and spirituals.
