The Boston-based Olmsted Ensemble, known for its vivid and compelling performances, will perform at Piedmont College on January 25, featuring chamber music by European and American masters.

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, in the Piedmont Chapel at 165 Central Avenue, Demorest. General admission is $10 and $5 for students and seniors. Piedmont students, faculty and staff are admitted free.

The program will include the dramatic "Quartet in D Minor" by Charles Hommann, "Quartet Opus 41 No 2 in F Major" by Ignace Pleyel, "Quartet No. 1 in D Minor" by Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, and Mozart's beloved "D Major Quartet (K. 285)." Members of the Olmsted Ensemble have appeared with orchestras and chamber groups in North America, Europe, and the Far East.

The Olmsted Ensemble takes its inspiration from Frederick Law Olmsted, the great landscape architect (creator of Boston's Emerald Necklace and New York's Central Park), whose work was visionary and forward-looking, while also honoring and extending traditions of the past.
