Piedmont faculty and students from last year’s Empty Bowls event show off bowls like those that will be available at the third-annual Empty Bowls fundraiser Oct. 27.

Piedmont ‘Empty Bowls’ to help fight hunger

Want to help fight hunger in Habersham County? The Piedmont College visual arts society, Kappa Pi, is hosting its third-annual Empty Bowls event from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Black Box Theatre at the Swanson Center in Demorest.

For a donation of $15, participants can enjoy a soup dinner provided by Java Joe’s of Clarkesville and take home a keepsake handcrafted bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The bowls are made by Piedmont art students, and all proceeds go to the Habersham Soup Kitchen.

Entertainment will include the Piedmont Theatre Department’s improve troupe, Schticks and Giggles, and music by the college’s Cantabile singers.
