Kate Campbell to perform at Piedmont College
Nashville singer/songwriter Kate Campbell will make a stop at Piedmont College to perform at 7:30 p.m., Jan. 19, in Jenkins Theater on the Demorest campus.
Campbell will perform songs from her most recent album, Two Nights In Texas, which was released in September 2011. Campbell made her recording debut in 1995 with Songs from the Levee, which included the song “Bury me in Blue Grass.” She has released eleven albums during her career, including Moonpie Dreams in 1997 and Visions of Plenty in 1997, which each earned “Folk Album Of The Year” nominations from the Nashville Music Awards.
Campbell’s music tells stories that have drawn comparisons to the writings of Flannery O’Connor, Eudora Welty, and William Faulkner. She performs a wide-range of American music styles, such as country, folk, country, and pop. She has performed across the U.S. and in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia. She has also performed in many international festivals, including the Cambridge Folk Festival in England and Port Fairy Folk Festival in Australia.
General Admission tickets are $15 at the door. Jenkins Theater is located on the bottom floor of Daniel Hall.
