Piedmont College professor Joy Hayner performing faculty recital

joy-hayner-2012-4-smPiedmont College professor of music Joy Hayner will present a recital of piano, organ, and harpsichord music at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, in the chapel at the campus in Demorest.

Hayner will perform pieces by Domenico Scarlatti, including "Sonata in D Major." She will also perform "Fantasy in C Minor" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Symphony No. 5" by Charles Marie Widor, and more.

A native of Orlando, Hayner serves as assistant professor of music at Piedmont College. She holds degrees from Bob Jones University in piano performance and the University of Georgia in organ performance. She maintains an active accompanying schedule, which includes playing for several state and regional finalists in MTNA and NATS competitions, faculty recitals, community performances and visiting artists. She performs as soloist on organ and piano and in ensemble with various musical groups in the region. She has served as a church organist, pianist and choir director for more than 30 years.
