Study Abroad at the University of Nottingham

Preparation

Students meet with the director of the Semester Abroad program to learn more about the opportunity and to begin the process of preparing for this exciting opportunity. Students complete a Piedmont College application which is reviewed by a committee of faculty, staff, and administrators. Once approved by the Committee, students are formally nominated to the University. In a few weeks, students receive a formal acceptance from the University International office.

Students attend sessions on campus to learn more about the University, are guided as they prepare necessary travel documentation, and discuss potential course work at the University. There are also meetings to discuss British culture, language, and opportunities to travel within the UK and Europe during the semester abroad. Students who have recently returned from the University are more than willing to share their experiences and provide valuable tips for a successful semester abroad!

By the time students leave for London or Ningbo, they are confident in their ability to acclimate to a new culture and education system.
